Ardour capabilities include: multichannel recording, non-linear, non-destructive region based editing with unlimited undo/redo, full automation support, a mixer whose capabilities rival high end hardware consoles, lots of plugins to warp, shift and shape your music, and controllable from hardware control surfaces at the same time as it syncs to timecode. If you've been looking for a tool similar to ProTools, Nuendo, Cubase SX, Digital Performer, Samplitude or Sequoia, you might have found it.

Spyral Synth Modular
Descripcion
SpiralSynth Modular is an object orientated music studio with an emphasis on live use. You can use it in a fairly straight forward way to make tracks with, or get very experimental. Audio or control data can be freely passed between the plugins. Data can also be fed back on itself for chaotic effects.
SSM supports LADSPA plugins, which you can use in the same way as any of the native plugins. The JACK audio server is also supported.
SSM is a collaborative open source project, see the AUTHORS file for an extensive list of contributors. This project is released under the terms and restrictions of the GPL license

Primitivo pero ágil secuenciador de muestras totalmente gratuito. Permite cargar muestras grabadas en casi cualquier formato (wav, aiff, mp3, xi, its, smp...), ya sean sonidos básicos o loops, para editarlas y secuenciarlas al tempo deseado.
Lo mejor:
- Es muy sencillo de utilizar y sus requisitos de sistema son mínimos. Sin embargo, es muy versátil.
- Se puede parametrizar casi cualquier comando de forma muy simple. También los efectos de sonido.
- Permite exportaciones directas a wave y mp3 del sonido final, que mezcla y comprime de forma muy limpia.
Lo peor:
- La edición de muestras incluida en el programa es algo limitada. Pero no es nada que no arregle un paso por Audacity, por ejemplo.
